US Airlines Pet Policy: A pet-friendly holiday is the best holiday! If it involves flying, you will need to do some research on airline pet policies. Many American airlines allow pets to join their flights, but some airlines are more pet-friendly than other airlines. While you are flying with your pets compare airline pet policies, additional fees, and other requirements.

If you are flying with other pets (weight up to 150 pounds and carrier combined) including dogs, cats, household birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, pot-bellied pigs, tropical fish, ferrets, and non-poisonous reptiles can fly with Alaska Airlines in the climate-controlled baggage and cargo compartments. The pets who are travelling in the baggage compartment is $100 each way.

Allegiant Air Pet Policy

Allegiant air allows dogs and cats in the cabin, $100 fee each. Passenger can carry only one pet carrier in the passenger cabin.

Cape Air allows cats, rabbits, dogs and household birds in the passenger cabin with additional charges $10. But, passenger can carry only one pet on each flight. Reservations for pets must be in advance.

Frontier Airlines Pet Policy

Frontier Airlines allows pets in passenger cabin rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, household birds, dogs, and hamsters.  You have to pay $75 each.

Frontier Airlines allows cats and dogs on international flights.  While flying with pets you have to do reservations for a pet, because Frontier Airlines provide limited space per flight for a pet.  If you have done pet reservation in Frontier Airlines through telephone, then they do not charge a fee.  You must call Frontier Airlines Reservations to book a flight with a pet.

American Airlines Pet Policy

American Airlines allows dogs and cats in the passenger cabin and charge $125 fee for each. While flying with pets you need a reservation in advance because American Airlines provide limited space per flight.

Most of the flights not allowed pets longer than 12 hours to/from the contiguous Central America, U.S., St. Croix, Mexico, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
There is first-come, first-serve for larger cats and dogs who fly in the baggage compartment. $200 charge for pets flying in the baggage compartment ($150 to/from Brazil).  Only two pets per person allowed in American Airlines.

Delta Airlines Pet Policy

Delta Airlines allows dogs, household bird and cats in the passenger cabin with an additional fee of $125 each way within the US and Canada. If you are travelling outside the U.S. the pet fee is $200, except to/from Brazil ($75 is the fee). Limited space is available for pets in the cabin.

JetBlue Airline Pet Policy

JetBlue allows small cats and dogs in the passenger cabin both international and domestic flights. $125 fee each way. The combined weight of the pet and carrier must be 20 pounds or less. You have to do a reservation for a pet before fly.

Unlike other airlines, JetBlue does not fly animals in cargo or baggage. Book online reservation for an in-cabin pet.

Spirit Airlines Pet Policy

Spirit Airlines allow dogs, cats and household birds in the passenger cabin on domestic flights, $110 fee each way. Weight should be 40 pounds both pet and carrier and reservations are required.

United Airlines

United Airlines allows rabbits, cats, household birds and dogs in the passenger cabin on most of the flight within the U.S., and charge $125 each way. If there is stoppage of United Flight more than four hours then additional  $125 service charge for each stoppage within the U.S. or more than 24 hours outside of the U.S.

West Jet Airlines

WestJet Airlines allows cats, rabbits, household birds and dogs in the passenger cabin. $50-$59 is the pet fee. You need to do reservations for a pet because there is limited space is available.

US Airlines Pet Policy

In the baggage compartment of WestJet, you can fly with birds, hedgehogs, dogs, rabbits, cats, guinea pigs, and chinchillas. The fee will be $75-$89 each way.  The combined weight of the pet and carrier may not exceed 100 pounds.

Hawaiian Airlines

Only cats, household birds, and dogs can fly in the passenger cabin in the Hawaiian Airlines either inter-island flights and on flights leaving Hawaii. The combined weight of the carrier and pet will not exceed 25 pounds.

 Pet Policy

There is a $175 pet fee on leaving the flight to Hawaii and $35 pet fee for inter-island flights. Do pet reservation while travelling with Hawaiian Airlines, because of limited space.
